Rumphia, sive commentationes botanicae imprimis de plantis Indiae Orientalis, vol. 2-4 (of 4), FIRST EDITION, half-titles, 3 lithographed frontispieces, 125 lithographed plates (numbered 86-200, with 10 bis numbers as called for), the majority hand-coloured, 10 folding, several of the uncoloured tinted views on india-proof paper, occasional spotting (mostly to uncoloured plates, one with light damp-staining), contents loose in publisher's stiff printed wrappers (one spine defective, others worn with loss) [Nissen BBI 178; Great Flower Books, p.50; Stafleu TL2 566], folio, Brussels, G.G. Sulpke, 1836; together with some incomplete loose text sheets of the Annales Musei Botanici Lugduno-Batavi (6)
Footnotes
The Rumphia was issued as a supplement to Blume's Flora Javae, and similarly based on the author's botanising in Java. The title pays homage to the pioneering botanist of the East Indies, Georg Eberhard Rumpf.
